There’s nothing like the smell of freshly-brewed coffee, but rather than head to a coffee shop each day to get your caffeine fix, invest in a coffee machine so you can enjoy your daily cup of java at home.
Drip, Filter, or Electric Coffee Makers
This is perhaps the most common of coffee makers. Fill your small tank with water and place the fine or medium ground coffee in a filter, each one chooses the quantity according to your taste. The appliance heats up and the liquid begins to drip. The lower plate keeps the drink at the ideal temperature for a long time.
The positive: it allows you to prepare many cups of coffee (8 to 12), making it ideal for an office, for example. Some come with a timer, so you can program them so that your hot drink is ready in the morning.
The negative: if you prefer the loaded coffee, this will seem a little light or too soft. On the other hand, it can take 10 minutes to do your homework. The constant purchase of filters implies an extra expense.
Espresso Makers
The best for many connoisseurs of the subject. It is ideal for espresso fans, that short and strong coffee, typical in Italy. There are several types: driven by pump or steam and automatic. The first ones are the most recommended, since they allow to regulate the amount of water.
A great example of this alternative is the krups coffee machine, with a cutting-edge design and the possibility of preparing different types of drinks.
The positive: the results are professional and aromatic and are obtained in a few seconds. If you like strong and intense coffee, this is the option to choose. On the other hand, these machines can also make cappuccinos, mochas and Americans, among others.
The negative: its size can be an impediment in small kitchens. In addition, it consumes more energy than the other alternatives and needs to be cleaned frequently. It only serves for a few cups.
Capsule Coffee Machines
As the name implies, they use plastic sealed coffee capsules. The machine drills them and water passes through them.
The positive: it is super easy to use, its size is small and its design is usually super elegant. There are many alternatives of preparations: from mocha to hot chocolate and iced tea. The capsules can be stored for months, unlike ground coffee.
The negative: the capsules and the same machines are usually very expensive and the former are difficult to recycle or reuse. Like the espresso machine, it serves to make a few cups.
